Brock Lesnar VS All

No intro today, I’m going right into it… First off, let me go on by saying that Brock Lesnar is the luckiest man on earth. Lesnar has two companies, The WWE and The UFC who want his ink on a contract. I’m not sure what perks Lesnar will get out of a UFC contract but so far with his current WWE contract, he has limited appearances and when he does show up, he gets a private jet from the company to bring him to whatever city they are in. He gets paid a ridiculously large amount of money to just walk to the ring, jump up on the apron and stand there saying nothing while having the best seat in the house to Paul Heyman. Oh, not to mention he only wrestles at the big events…. But I do gotta say, when Lesnar shows up to defend, he puts on a hell of performance.

Now a lot of people don’t like the schedule Lesnar works, especially as champion. But truthfully in my opinion, (I can’t wait to get heat on this one) I have no problem with it. The World Title with Brock having it, it has legitimized it if you think about it. Title matches actually mean something now when Brock is defending and whether you want to admit it or not, you’re invested into the TV when he’s on. Lesnar is this monster heel who is holding the title hostage, defending it when it’s right. You don’t see the belt every day but when you do, it means something. Yeah it pisses people off because that’s not how a champion in wrestling should be booked, but the days of your super hero champions for now are over until further notice. Brock’s limited appearances/title defenses plays into his character. Plus you’re not seeing a title change every single week and what makes it so much more special is when that title change does happen, it’s going to be an incredible moment.

Now this is where a lot of the “Die hard Lesnar fans” get a little offended because I’m about to keep it real. During Lesanr’s time in the UFC, he won the UFC heavyweight title in a very thin division. He was a big fish in a small pond. He beat guys who are now retired or are close to retirement but still trying to inch their way back into the top 10. Now it was very unfortunate that his diverticulitis happened during his time on top, but even that I don’t see as an excuse as to why he lost his title. The competition just started to grow and Lesnar just wasn’t evolving.

Current UFC Heavyweight Rankings

Since Lesnar left the UFC, the sport itself has evolved without him. That heavyweight division that Lesnar left behind has grown with the worlds best fighters. Yeah Lesnar will get a big pay day if he comes back, he’s a big draw. But I’m sorry to hurt some feelings, but Lesnar WILL NOT beat anyone in the Top Ten. Put Lesnar against the current champ Cain Velasquez, your beast that took the streak from the undertaker and was build into this monster by the WWE, will look like a child getting beat with a belt by his mother… I could go on and on but you should get my point by now and if you don’t, then you’re just a hardcore wrestling fan who is in denial. Eat, Sleep, Beatdown, Repeat! That’s the theme of Lesnar’s UFC run… Only not in his favor.
From the WWE standpoint, if they are still trying to resign Lesnar, they have to do it tonight, especially when they need to book a finish for this Sunday’s WrestleMania. There’s so many scenarios we can see on Sunday but that only can be determined if Lesnar is resigning or if he’s saying bye for now.
I personnel think it’s a better business decision for Brock to resign with the WWE, for financial and health reasons at most. I’ve never been in a wrestling ring but I have been in a cage and I know what it’s like to train. Can Lesnar, at 37 years old still train at a world class level? No one truly knows.
We can all be sitting here speculating what is Lesnar going to do. but in reality, maybe his ink could already be on a WWE contract and we are all just feeding in to the rumors, playing right into the hands of the puppet master himself, Vince McMahon.

That’s my Heel Turn!

  1. I hope he doesn’t sign an extension with WWE. The build-up to the Lesnar-Reigns has been non-existent, one of the worst build-ups to a WrestleMania main event ever.

You can’t have the WWE Champion picking and choosing to turn up wheneevr he feels like it, the champ needs to be there every week. So hopefully Reigns wins at ‘Mania and Lesnar f***’s off

  2. I agree that Lesnar has brought a validity to the WWE championship by not defending it on a weekly basis but I have to wonder…what kind of message does that send to those champions who did defend it week in and week out in the past. It seems kind of disrespectful to wrestlers of the past who were expected to and did show up every week and give it there all every time and made 1/2 or less the amount that Lesnar does. Not to mention if Lesnar can’t/won’t handle the schedule then give it to someone who at least fully does want to give himself to the wwe and to their career in the wwe…I.e. Reigns, Rollins, Ziggler, Kidd etc.
